There is quite some history to the bridge, both in its current form and previous incarnations. Cars still to this day pay to pass over the crossing and whilst it has been rebuilt several times, the crossing itself has changed little over the years, having replaced a previous ferry thanks to an act of parliament passed in 1792. Why not join a cruise and let us tell all. One thing we are happy to tell you, it is a great photo spot and can be seen from all upstream cruises heading to Pangbourne, Goring, Moulsford or Beale Park. Shortly after navigating under the Bridge, for those continuing upstream, you will enter Whitchurch Lock.
