17 Mar Cruise Update May 2020
Covid -19 Update 1000hrs May 16th 2020
Despite the easing of lockdown recreation measures, we remain unable to reopen due to government restrictions and at the the current time we are awaiting a green light for boat movements from the Environment Agency who control the Thames waterways. In the interim we are planning ahead for social distancing measures and running test set ups on our vessels to be able to offer a fresh air service when we are allowed. We continue to monitor advice and will release further details about our return as soon as possible. Restrictions apply to both private charter and public cruises. We want to share the stunning river with you as soon as possible in a safe way and hope to have exciting news soon.
Covid -19 Update 1000hrs March 20th 2020
Sadly following government advice we are now canceling all Sunday Lunch, Afternoon Tea and Live on the Thames events (including Jazz Cafe) until June. We are offering all ticket holders the chance to book on alternate cruises later in the year and would ask you to contact us to do so. We are a small business that will now see our season very squeezed to the latter half of the year, it is very much encouraged that where possible you support us and reschedule. For those that are unable to do this we will refund your tickets. To instigate a refund please email your booking reference and name using this link . This is a very busy time for ticket reassignment and we aim to process all refund requests within 14 days we appreciate your patience.
At the current time Easter daily tripping cruises from Caversham Pier remain unaffected please watch this page for further updates. For private charter clients please contact your party organiser for an update.
Covid -19 Update 1300hrs March 18th 2020
Mothers Day Cruise 22nd March, Sunday Lunch Cruises and Afternoon Tea Cruises in April
We have tried very hard to find a way to hold these events but sadly given the need for distancing and the fact that many cruises are fully booked it would be against government advice and guidelines to proceed.
However, we think Mothers Day should be celebrated so we have postponed this event and created a new Thames Rivercruise Mothers Day on Sunday 6th September. All other details, timing, and menus remain the same. We really hope you will be able to join us in September. For this event, your tickets will be automatically transferred and re-issued for this date.
You have the right to ask us to refund your tickets and we will, of course, do this but would request if possible, join us and look forward to better times. Come and enjoy a stunning roast in lovely surroundings a little later in the year than expected. If you are unable to attend or would like a refund, please reply to this email with your name and booking number.
For Sunday Lunch Cruises and Afternoon Tea tickets please contact us and we will book you on other Sunday Lunch or Afternoon Cruises later in the year. All other cruises are currently planned to run as normal.
Covid -19 Update issued 1600hrs March 17th 2020
We are open and working to navigate the fast-changing world in which we find ourselves. We are part of the local community and a small family business so doing everything possible to make sure that we are able to offer, where possible, our normal service.
In the future, depending on advice from the government, this may change but for now, we have taken our own sensible measures to allow you to enjoy the river. Your health and wellbeing remain our number one priority when you are on-board, this has not, and will never, change. You will find our team offer smiles instead of handshakes but they are ready to assist you.
We have taken some extra precautions, seating is more spaced out than normal and we will be limiting passenger numbers on each sailing. We already have a strong cleanliness ethos and have added additional cleans before, during and after each cruise to uphold the very highest standards of hygiene.
There are outside areas on all our vessels and you are welcome to enjoy the river from these as well as inside.
We do ask that anyone feeling unwell rather sensibly does not board the vessel. If you have been asked by the government or your doctor to self-isolate, as much as the river has magic healing powers, please could you hold off your cruise for a little while.
Finally, we are a small business in an affected sector. We want to be here in the future so would ask any passenger unable to attend a cruise or event already pre-booked, to please reschedule and come to see the river in all its glory later in the year. We will be adding more cruises and new dates to enable this. We will make your ticket valid for a later cruise.
Come, see and enjoy the river.
