Our Fleet

Take a tour of our fleet of passenger boats sailing out of our base in Reading, including two historic craft; a Dunkirk Little Ship straight out of Operation Dynamo and a WWII Coastal Defence Patrol Boat.

Whether you’re joining a scheduled cruise along the Thames or chartering one of our vessels for a private party or event, we have the perfect boat for you.

All of the boats in our fleet are well equipped and maintained to ensure that our passengers and guests are comfortable and safe. We also have fully stocked bars to keep you refreshed and for dining cruises, we can cater for casual buffets as well as four course meals.

Boat Trip River Thames Caversham Princess

The Caversham Princess was commissioned for Thames Rivercruise as the flag ship of the Upper Thames. Custom built for us, she is the ideal host for weddings, parties or a conference and is one of the coolest viewing platforms for the countryside we travel through.

She carries a full bar and galley facilities, can offer full silver service dining and plays host to jazz bands, casino nights and has the best floating dance floor we know of with rolled back roof to the stars in summer.

Boat Trip River Thames Devon Belle

The Devon Belle has a special place in our fleet, she is a piece of floating history having taken part in operation Dynamo to rescue troops from the beaches of Dunkirk.

Devon Belle (known as Seymour Castle in her earlier life) has all the character of a historic vessel but has been fitted with the conveniences of a modern boat. We sailed her from Plymouth in 1999 and undertook the first of several refits to make suitable for the Thames.

Her wide foredeck and open top deck make her the best boat we have for photography, and our very own Dunkirk Little Ship is available for party hire as well as destination cruises.

She has a fully equipped, onboard bar and is a popular, intimate choice for wedding drinks, tour groups or a jazz afternoon on the river.

Thames River Boat Trip Caversham Lady

The Caversham Lady is a name that has been synonymous with Thames Rivercruise since the 1970’s, but this is a newer boat that shares the same name.

Although originally built in 1982, The Caversham Lady was relaunched in 2016 after undergoing an extensive re-fit to bring her up to our high standards and make her ready for a new life on the Thames.

She is wide, easy to access and has great views all around as well as a nice open foredeck. You will see her most days on our scheduled services from Caversham Pier or on one of our destination cruises.

As with all our vessels there is a full bar on board and has been adapted to be accessible for most wheelchairs.

Thames River Boat Trip Lady Caroline

Lady Caroline is a surprisingly sprightly tripping boat that is usually found operating on our runs from Mapledurham to Pangbourne as well as transfers to and from Reading Festival.

Originally operating at Thorpe Park but since refitted to become part of the Thames Rivercruise fleet, the Lady Caroline has easy access and big windows which makes her a great vessel from which to explore Wind in the Willows country and ideal for enjoying the river during inclement weather.

Boat Trip River Thames Princess Marina

The Princes Marina started her life at sea in Scarborough and Bridlington before being requisitioned for coastal defence patrols during World War II. Her time on the Thames started shortly after the end of the war in the 1950’s, and more recently, as a passenger boat with Thames Rivercruise.

After a thorough overall, she now has the class and elegance that she deserves, equipped with sumptuous Lloyd Loom chairs and the best soft furnishings you can find. All the fixtures and fittings are in keeping with the vessel, with the addition of central heating to make it a comfortable party boat all year round.

She provides the perfect setting for private dining, meetings and exclusive parties where privacy and ambiance is essential. Carrying up to 45 people comfortably, she can seat 34 for dining or 40 for a buffet.
