Our second Live on the Thames event this year is a first for the Thames. Join Josie and the Outlaw for what has to be the most rock ‘n’ roll event of 2017. Spend a Saturday evening on the river and embrace the 1950’s.

This is one band you can not miss, turning heads with their retro style and music that is ever so slightly nostalgic. Described online as “Rock and roll with a lot of ass kicking soul” it will only take a few moments of their performance before you get the rockabilly blues vibe in your head.

With Josie performing lead vocals the band also includes guitar, double bass and drums for the real deal sound of the 50’s. Listen to some of their music here .

Sailing from Caversham Pier at 7pm on 21stOctober we will have the backdrop of a long summer night before dusk sets in with live music drifting out over the river. As ever full bar on board and the dance floor will be ready and waiting. Why not take it a bit further and arrive dressed for the 50’s.

The Details

General Information
  • This Live on the Thames performance is on Saturday 21st October at 7pm.
  • Josie and the Outlaw are a multi piece band and will be playing on the top deck in several sets.
  • We will have a  full bar with beer on tap, wine and spirits as well as soft drinks, hot drinks and bar snacks.
  • Our boats are equipped with full central heating and toilet facilities, in good weather we will open the sides.
Sailing & Boarding Times
  • The trip is on 21st October 2017 and will be between 1900hrs and 2200hrs leaving from Caversham Pier or Promenade (they are next to each other)
  • Boarding will commence up to 20 minutes prior to the scheduled
  • We will be unable to return to the landing stage during the live performance so it is important that you arrive punctually
Disabled/Limited Mobility Access
  • All our vessels carry ramps to assist with wheelchair access. We make every effort to accommodate all passengers comfortably, on our multi-deck vessels the bar and toilets may be located on a different deck to the live performance. We recommend calling our booking team to discuss any specific requirements.

Travel & Directions
  • The boat will leave either our Caversham Promenade or Pier boarding point in Reading. They are next to each other and located to the rear of the Crowne Plaza Hotel near Reading Rowing Club. The postcode for sat nav use is RB1 8BD
  • There are public car parks located to the rear of the rowing club (1-2 minutes walk) and about 5 minutes walk away.
Terms & Restrictions
  • We ask you book in advance as places are limited. As with any live music event there is a chance the performance will need to be cancelled due to extenuating circumstances (very rare) in which case you will be offered a full refund or the
  • We are unable to offer a refund if you miss the event or departure time.
  • Children are welcome on board, we ask that you keep in mind this event will have a jovial atmosphere and that parents and responsible adults take care of their own children. Please see our full terms & conditions
