Cruise upstream from Caversham to the twin villages of Pangbourne and Whitchurch, passing by Purley on Thames and the Elizabethan Manor at Mapledurham and its working Watermill. Through Mapledurham Lock and witnessing the amazing scenery of Wind in the Willows country, turning eventually at Pangbourne where Kenneth Graham, the author of wind in the Willows, first envisaged his amazing story.
Its easy to lose yourself and imagine Rat, Mole and Toad all living in this area. You can in fact see the Manor Houses of Mapledurham and Hardwick which could well have been the famous Toad Hall.
This cruise can be adapted for visitors to disembark at Mapledurham House and Watermill.
