Sunday Afternoon Tea Cruises

A bespoke Tea for each cruise. 

Afternoon tea will be served to your table on vintage crockery, each cruise will have a unique twist and we will also be operating a full bar onboard. Afternoon tea made by Laura is a real treat, an artisan baker with flair, everything is freshly made with panache! Freshly baked exciting savouries will be accompanied by cakes, scones, cream and jam, naturally, partnered with leaf tea. A chef with a real belief in preparation and quality local ingredients to make the best of treats.

A choice of seating is offered   – The Upper Deck Seating gives a great viewing platform over the river and surrounding areas whilst the Saloon Seating with big windows is a little more cosy and has good access to the bar, we will arrange the tables to suit your party size. (please note rarely for operational reasons we may use a single deck boat in which case all tables will be on one deck with access to the bar and toilet facilities)

The Schedule

We will slip our mooring lines in Caversham and cruise up the river*. Spot birds and wildlife as the boat follows the twist and turns of the river to Mapledurham Lock and weir before heading back downstream to Reading. Departure is at 1415 and the cruise will be around 2 hours, boarding commences 15 minutes prior to departure.

Dietary Requests

When booking your tickets please alert us to any special dietary requirements please enter them in the free text field. The chef and her team will also be able to assist you on the day of a cruise as to specific ingredients and provide alternatives where possible.

Departure Point

All tea cruises will depart from our boarding point at Caversham Promenade or Caversham Pier (they are next to each other) by Reading Rowing club beside Caversham Bridge Reading. There are car parks near by which are often free at the weekend.


Wheelchair Access

Our boats are multi deck, access is via a ramp and we do have a few limitations with door widths. We recommend giving the office a quick call on 01189 481088 to discuss your requirements and we can advise on the best options for you or your guests.
